Kennel Ahvatuulen, Finnish Lapphunds from Lapland HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! WELCOME TO THE HOMEPAGE OF KENNEL AHVATUULEN! My name is Tiina Kuukasjärvi and I have bred nine Finnish Lapphund litters from year 1988. My kennel name -Ahvatuulen (= Springwinds)- I got in April -92. I live in Muonio in the Northest Lapland in Finland. My very first Lappies were from Sodankylä. Their names were f.Poromiehen Tsikku (8.11.84-11.6.96) and m.Fin Ch Aljo Noppe (2.10.86-5.1.98). They had fifteen puppies together. F.Nat Fogel Sirma (22.6.96-26.3.09) from Salla came home after Tsikku passed away. Now I have four Lappies, the oldest is m.Fi Ch Itätuulen Mosse (b.24.1.99) from Salla. F.Viksalan Nilla (b.28.12.2003) is from Taavetti. Perhaps the dearest dog to me was my own puppy f.Ahvatuulen Hippunen Kultaa (A Bit of Gold 20.5.07-7.5.10), but she passed away in spring 2010. She went after the reindeers to the icy lake and fell to the hole in the ice. We feel deep sorrow for this. Now my youngest ones are my own "Midsummerpuppy" f.Ahvatuulen Inka Maare (b.25.6.2010) and m.Erätytön Sahpe (b.21.10.2011, dam: Ahvatuulen Hillankukka & sire: Fi ch Petäjämaan Viksu). My old dogs Tsikku and Noppe, via their son Ahvatuulen Tassu, are ancestors to my present dogs. Sirma's and Mosse's first/my sixth litter has been born on the 27th of February 2000. Our seventh Finnish Lapphund litter has been born on the 20th of January 2006 to Mosse and Nilla, three females and two males. They all are black with white marks or marks. You can see every litter bred by me in my homepage "My puppies". The eight and my biggest litter has been born on the 20th of May 2007. There are eight puppies together:)! Three of them are males and five are females. They are black or black with bigger or smaller white marks. At Midsummer, the 25th of juni 2010, Viksalan Nilla and Ahvatuulen Cammo got my kennel's ninth litter:), one girl and five boys. They all are black with white or/and brown marks. The boys are now at their new homes and f.Inka Maare is my dog:) after Hippunen. The latest pictures are in my Päiväkirja (Diary). The next litter is in the making in autumn 2012 or in spring-summer 2013. I breed my puppies with great love.. :). My litters born rarely, so breeding is not any work to me, but it is a very interesting and rewarding hobby. Sometimes it takes me years to plan and get a litter that I want to. All my dams live/have lived at home and my puppies born and grow inside the house. And my sireline is my "own":) via Ahvatuulen Tassu and Ahvatuulen Cammo. Our hobbies are useful: picking berries, fishing, looking after the reindeers and in winter we are sking in the forests and on the hills. Sometimes we drive about 250-300 km taking part in dogshows. Sometimes my dogs have gotten prizes in the shows and I have been very proud of them :). There has been visitors (I know ;)) in my homepages at least from Great Britain, United States, Germany, Netherlands, France, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Hungary, Croatia, Australia, Tuvalu, Switzerland, Ukraine and some unknown countries, that's great and I'm in very good mood for this:).
